Hopefully it will affect our economy in a positive way. According to former president Bill Clinton, if we invest $1 billion dollars in a solar plant, we can create 2000 jobs; investing the same money in a coal plant only creates 170 jobs. Wind energy is similarly lucrative to solar. Production of new energies and new technologies will involve the creation of more jobs and revenue. Hopefully, this would be enough to stimulate our economy.
If renewable energy, like wind power, was more readily available to the consumer market (for now, the economic viability of wind power is dependent upon tandom investments in transmission technology), it would be a competitive energy source and be able to exploit regional price variations. Its sustainable supply makes it resistant to inflation as well.
