When was Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first made famous?

    Rudolph was already fairly well-known after Robert L. May came up with the story idea for Montgomery Ward, but wasn’t incredibly famous and immortalized until Robert May’s brother-in-law, Johnny Marks, wrote the song in 1949.
