The last massive migration was likely when, after the Holocaust, the British established Israel and helped roughly 20 million Jewish people settle there. However, instability in eastern Europe and Africa, like Somalia or Bosnia has led to huge amounts of displaced people and refugees, which the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants says could be as high 62 million people.
Prior to that the industrial revolution led to mass migrations throughout the world.
