The first robotics arms were attached to humans in June of 2008 at a hospital at the Syrian-Lebanese hospital in San-Paolo, Brazil. The operation was performed by neuro-surgeons from Duke University, who installed a microchip in the patient’s brain which allows for intravenous control of the arms.
