There are a few answers that I have for you on the first kidney kidney transplant. The first actual kidney transplant was a rabbit to human transplant done 1905 in which the human died 2 weeks later. The first temporary kidney transplant was performed in 1945 in which the patient was given new kidneys for a short time to allow her kidneys to recover in a healthier environment. The first successful permanent kidney transplant was performed in 1952 when a kidney was transplanted from a car accident victim into a living person.
