After the Industrial Revolution, and subsequently after Thomas Edison’s invention of electric lighting, there were many multinational companies trying to power the world. Out of them, Westinghouse and General Electric stand out. First in NYC, then spreading to Europe and then the rest of the world, locomotives and streetlights were powered. Soon companies were able to really get into manufacturing and the rest is history.
