GM has been credited with producing the first ever hydrogen fuel cell vehicle in 1966. The “Electrovan” was a 1966 GMC handivan, which was converted on the inside to a science lab. Dr. Craig Marks was the man behind the idea and it took his team of over 250 people and 2 years to make a drivable vehicle.
