Probably not. Wolves are carnivores, and from what I’ve heard, the meat of carnivores is stringy and not very tasty. However, I suppose if the hunter were desperate, eating wolf meat would not be out of the question.
The meat is probably tougher because since they run to catch their prey, their muscles will be much tougher. Wouldn’t stop anyone who’s dying from hunger from eating one, but not very popular. Their fur was likely much more valuable than their meat.
Well, I’m sure back in the day(way back), when man and wolf were still competing over prey someone must’ve tried it and decided it wasn’t too great. The fur trade, however, loved wolves.
