when is it a good time to divide the woody stems on a huge Christmas cactus? and would the removed stems grow on in indiviudal containers?

    Apparently, springtime/early summer is a good time to divide the stems. It is possible to grow the removed stems in individual containers (see first link below).

    I recommend going to the second link below and seeing some questions and answers regarding dividing the stems of a Christmas cactus. It may provide some helpful information.
