When did we start using rocks as tools?

It has been difficult for anthropologists and paleontologists to determine exactly when humans became tool-users. The first human tools were rocks; but the more primitive such tools get, the more they begin to resemble regular rocks (“natural objects”). The oldest rock tools that have been found are the “Oldawan stone tools”, which were found in Ethiopia. They are between 2.5 and 2.6 million years old.
