When did we start using leather for clothing?

In the 1900’s, the brown leather jacket was first worn by an aviator and many members of the military. They were called “bomber jackets.” During the 1980’s leather jackets were becoming well known around that time. Rock bands wore them constantly to show off their rebellion for the nation to see.

Leather jackets brings a high impact towards the environment. Mostly due to the impact of livestock, polluting chemicals in the tanning process, air pollution for transforming process and it takes leather to decompose within 25-40 years.
