In 1970 the glue used for acrylic nails was invented but the “liquid and powder” process was invented closer to the mid 1970s. The nails were rather fake looking and were simply pieces of acrylic that were glued to one’s nails. By 1978 acrylic nails were gaining popularity but mostly worn by wealthy women and were usually very long.
