When did we start understanding super foods?

    “Superfoods” isn’t really a scientific term; the Oxford dictionary defines it as “a food considered especially nutritious or otherwise beneficial to health and well-being.” Blueberries are considered a superfood.

    However, if you are talking about GMOs, the first tests occurred in 1986. Genetically modified corn is the type of corn grown in the US. While this technology has been around for a while, it is hard to say that we truly “understand” how it works. There are still questions on how GMOs affect biodiversity, how they affect natural crops, whether there are any negative health effects, etc.
