    The brown recluse spider is unfortunately native to the Americas. Its full name is Loxosceles reclusa. Even more unfortunately, there are also many other related “fiddleback” spiders from the genus Loxosceles that are native to the Americas. The brown recluse is usually found in the Central Midwestern States down to the Gulf of Mexico, as the map below shows.
