When did we start making geothermal energy?

Technically we never made geothermal energy; it’s been around as long as Earth has. The first time humans used it though was over 10,000 years ago by North American Native Americans who used hot springs for cooking and cleaning. Later, in the late 1700s, an industry near Pisa, Italy began using the steam coming out of the ground to get boric acid out of the hot springs known as Larderello Fields. The first geothermal electric power plant was invented by Piero Conti in 1904, and the first one of those built in America was in 1922.
