While all countries have their history of child labor, it became a terrible problem in the US in the 1800s. Laws regarding child labor commenced in 1802, though these laws did not actually outlaw child labor. A law regarding the schooling of working children came into being in 1813. Other laws regulated the amount of hours a child was able to work. Today, child labor is regulated in every state, but some children, such as those of migrant workers are not protected.
