When did we first document a shark jumping out of the water after a seal?

    Very tough to have an exact time frame for when people first witnessed shark’s projecting themselves out of the water after prey.  For as long as people have been at sea, sailing, canoeing, swimming, etc… There is a story from 1936 of a great white jumping on to a boat knocking crew off, but I am sure people witnessed the aerial attacks long before then also.  

    It has only been in the last few years that photography equipment has made capturing the Great White Sharks’ great leaps possible.  The attack lasts only one second and thus needs very fast advanced equipment to obtain a fluid shot.  There are some amazing videos through the link posted below.
