Antonio Luque was a researcher from Spain who founded the Institute for Solar Research, one of the oldest solar centers in the world, in 1975. Luque invented bifacial cells, which absorb solar energy from both sides of the cell. The researchers at the institute today continue to push the boundaries of solar cell technology with new innovative projects.
