When did people start using assisted colonization?

    “Assisted colonization” was introduced into the lexicon of ecologists, conservationists and preservationists in July 2008. On July 18th, 2008, the journal Science published a report entitled: “Assisted Colonization and Rapid Climate Change”. This report was the first record of this alternative approach to conservation. This report was followed by a February 28th, 2009 report in ScienceDaily entitled: “Assisted Colonization Key To Species’ Survival In Changing Climate”.
