When did dog fighting start?

    The oldest accounts of dogfighting go back to 43 A.D.  Romans invaded Britain and both sides brought trained fighting dogs to the battlefield.  The Romans were so impressed by how well trained the British dogs were, that dogs became a staple of the battlefield and coliseum fighting.

    It can be traced back for centuries.  Modern dog fighting can be traced to 1835 when using dogs as bait for bulls, bears, and other large animals became illegal in England.  People then began using their bait dogs to fight against other dogs.  

    More recently, the offspring of dogs that have won 5 or more contests can sell the puppies for up to $20,000 each.

    Never to disappoint the video games public, Konami currently is rolling the Alloy Gear Solid: HD Collection that will celebrate 25 years within the series.
