A few years ago, scientists at UC Berkeley used rocks and fossils to pinpoint a new date for the extinction of dinosaurs. 65.95 million years ago (give or take 40,000 years) is the new date archeologists have discovered. This is changed from the previous date which was 65.5 million years ago, give or take 300,000 years. I hope this is helpful!
Dinosaurs became extincted at the end of the Cretaceous Period, about 65 million years ago. They had lived on Earth for about 165 million years. There is some debate about the actual date of their extinction, but 65 million years ago seems to be the most agreed upon answer.
