When chemicals change states do they lose any mass?

Mass does not change during a chemical change. If it is in a gas state, liquid state, or solid state the volume (mass), stays the same.

There are different kinds of mass, and matter can have its mass changed.  Mass can separate; mass can be released as energy.  The fact (as far as humans know) still stands: mass cannot be created or destroyed.  Here’s a physics forum discussion going deeper into the velocity of the matter. (pun intended)
