when is the best time to fertilize maple trees in the deep south?

To begin with, it should be determined whether or not fertilization is necessary, as if the tree has grown more than six inches in the past year, there is no need to fertilize at all. However, if fertilization is necessary, such as when the tree has grown less than two inches, it is preferable t fertilize the tree during early spring (after the vernal equinox), to promote the growth cycle that will occur in late spring. But make sure to test the soil and provide the right nutrients. Not all fertilizers are made equal.

    I hope this helped!
