Texas’ first big wind farm was installed in the Delaware Mountains of Culberson County in 1995.  It has 112 turbines.

Texas is the largest wind resource in the U.S.  Texas was also the first to begin wind energy research in 1970.  Texas is the first state to reach 10,000 MW of wind energy installations and is home to seven of the nation’s top ten largest wind farms, including all of the top five.
