When and where was the sheep domesticated?

    It is theorized that humans first began domesticating animals, including sheep, during the Mesolithic Period and as early as 9000 B.C. This took place in what is now Egypt and parts of the Middle East.

    Sheep were probably domesticated between 9 and 11 thousand years ago in Mesopotamia. They were among the first animals that humans ever domesticated. Several things contributed to this domestication: mild tempers, smallish size, early sexual maturity, a social nature, and high reproduction rates
