The next meteor shower is the Orionids, starting on October 2, with a peak date in the morning of October 21, 2009, and lasting until November 7; it’s during a near new moon phase. It’s best to get as far away from city lights as possible to get the best viewing of a meteor shower and head toward the constellation from which the meteors will appear to radiate.
