Studies have shown that wheat exposed to high levels of CO2 can significantly affect its quality. These wheat grains end up containing less iron and higher levels of lead concentration. It’s not that these wheat grains are bad for the environment, instead they can be bad for human health. “The drop in iron is particularly worrisome as half of the world’s population are already iron deficient.”
Wheat like other plants cannot be bad for the environment but may be bad for human consumption.
