What’s the difference between sea scallops and bay scallops?

    Bay scallops grow to about 4 inches in diameter and the meat only grows about half way across. They are smaller, have more grooves, and the edges are more serrated then a sea scallop. Sea scallops are also bigger with an average diameter of 8 inches.
