While the first electronic computer was completed in 1942, computers did not become widespread until much later, first in the office, and then at home in the 80s and 90s.
The first freely programmable computer was invented in1936 by Konrad Zuse, and it was called the Z1 Computer. Since then, computers were mainly used by the government, and was not provided for the public. It wasn’t until 1981, when IBM came up with The IBM PC – Home Computer, that the idea of a personal computer began to take off.
