The new Yahoo Data Center has designed their new building from a chicken coop design, which utilize outside air and reduce cooling power and costs. The first data building will be located in Lockport, New York.
The proposed 155,000-square-foot data center, accommodates 50,000 servers, and is cooled almost 100 percent by outside air, using 40 percent less energy than typical data centers. By using the Yahoo’s Coop design estimate depict that only 1 percent of its annual energy consumption will be attributed to cooling.
