What is the XY Central deposit?

The XY Central deposite is the central section (one of three main sub-zones) of the XY deposit (one of six zones) of the zinc-lead mining operation known as the Selwyn project.  Selwyn Resources of Canada recently joined forces with Yunnan Chihong Zinc of China to undertake the mining of a large underground zinc-lead deposit in the eastern part of the Yukon Territory.  Full-scale mining has not yet begun, but Selwyn recently updated its estimates on the amount of metal in the depostes, based in part on exploratory drilling in the XY Central deposit.
