What would happen to west virginia if coal was to be banned?

It would just become worse than it already is.  West Virginia is a fine state, but they are too dependent on one resource, and that could haunt them — some think it already has.  Look at nearby Pittsburgh: For so long, they were dependent upon steel and related products.  Now, they are regional leaders in education and technology and national leaders in medical research.  Google just built a new headquarters there.  The city is named to some publication’s “Best Places To Live” list every year.  West Virgnina cannot stay stagnate, and needs to find ways to bring in more jobs even before coal gets banned (if it does).
