What would happen if all the reserves of fossil fuels in the world were burned in a one year period?

I think the most acute angers would in fact not be environmental. I’m sure it would take a few years for the environmental changes to get up to speed but without a back-up plan, most world economies would come to a halt. Even countries that are progressive with green energies, still rely on fossil fuels to a point. I think a country like the United States would literally starve because we don’t have the infrastructure in place to survive without fossil fuels. We aren’t planning for the shift enough and if it happened all at once, the results would be tragic.
