What would happen if all the grass in the world was gone?

Many different ecosystems would be destroyed, as well as (obviously) the Grasslands biome.  Many, many animals are dependent upon grass as the sole source of their diet.  The insects that live in grass would no longer have a hospitable envionment.  Farmers that are dependent on grass for their livestock to graze upon would be ruined.  The carbon that is stored in grass would be stored elsewhere, such as the atmosphere.
