Believe it or not, the price of water is going up. Not quickly, but water is a finite resource and we continue to use it quicker and quicker, driving up demand and then the price up. As this goes on, it becomes ‘economically profitable’ to limit water use. This is why we continue to see adds for low flow toilets and other water saving devices. The movement towards saving water for environmental reasons certainly owes a bit of credit to simple economics. If water prices keep climbing, there will be more incentive to use less and less of it.
