There are a few reasons why your plants could have a calcium defficiency.  The first would be a lack of nutrients in the soil.  Healthy soil is important for any plants.  Secondly, a lack of water could cause the plants to lose the inability to transport calcium to the entire plant.  Thirdly, an excessive use of Nitrogen or Potassium fertilizers could cause the plants to lose the inability to trasport calcium.
