What is the worst type of waste produced by an airport?

The worst damage an airport can do towards the environment is actually not in the airport at all but in the air with the airplanes. Carbon greenhouse gas emissions are so environmentally unfriendly that there were plans to cap emissions as far as 10 years ago. Luckily, the development of biofuels for airlines may save these air-wastes.

One could also argue that all the cars that go to airports yield a tremendous amount of fuel emissions.

As for solid waste within airports, some airports are working to reuse solid waste and incorporate it into the airport’s design. Toronto airport, for example, reuses their solid wastes into their products and design.
