What is the worst chemical used in refrigerators?

    We replaced CFCs (CloroFloroCarbons) with HFCs (HydroFloroCarbons) as refrigerants when it became clear that CFCs were causing the hole in the ozone layer. However HFCs are a very potent green house gas and are now causing problems on that front.
