The largest salt-water swimming pool in the world, as recorded by Guinness World Reports is located at the San Alfonso del Mar resort in Chile.  It is 1km long and, thanks to its innovative design, you can see as far as 35m down.  It takes up 8 hectares and contains as much water as about 6,000 standard backyard pools!
