Recent studies indicate that there are links between pesticide consumption and attention deficit disorder as well as respiratory problems in children. There have not been sufficient studies on the accumulation of pesticides in the body to say what other health consequences might arise.

Keep in mind that when you wash your vegetable, you’re not only washing off the pesticides and herbicides, none of which are particularly healthy for humans to ingest, you’re also washing off the bacteria of every hand that’s touched them. There is an assembly line of people who sort those vegetables, stock shelves, and in general touch your produce, and if you don’t wash them, you’re sticking whatever they touch in your mouth and ingesting it.

    I hope this helped!

There are many health risks involved with ingesting chemical pesticides.  Children are highly susceptible to pesticide toxicity with a higher incidence of childhood leukemia, brain cancer, and birth defects.  Additionally, pesticides are not easily flushed from your body, but instead build up in the liver causing such side effects as: fatigue, skin irritations, blood disorders, nausea, liver and kidney damage, reproductive damage, cancer, breathing problems, vomiting, brain disorders and death.
