Wildland-urban interface is the area where buildings, structures, and human development meets undeveloped wild areas. This usually occurs at the outlying areas of a city or metropolitan area, commonly found where cities encounter forested lands. Along these wildland-urban interfaces it is more likely for people to encounter wildlife species and should take any precautions necessary. These areas also need to be managed for fire hazards such as dead dry grasses, shrubs, and trees.
