The chemical composition of water is H2O, so two Hydrogen atoms bound to one Oxygen atom.
Here is a diagram:
Pure water is formed from two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom. Well and spring water can have many minerals mixed in it naturally, such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and iron. Water can also contain microorganisms including Giardia, a parasite which can be extremely detrimental to your health. Because of this, most municipal water agencies treat tap water with chlorine. Flouride is a naturally occuring element that is found in some natural water sources, but it is also added by municipal water agencies. Other contaminants include lead, nitrates, sulfates, and radon.
