The answer to this question is arguable, but many would agree that it would be his 2006 book The Weather Makers: How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth.  The piece won ‘Book of the Year’ at the New South Wales Premier’s Literary Awards in 2006 and gained him the 2007 title of Australian of the Year.  Some of his other literary works place at the top of his list of achievements such as The Future Eaters and The Eternal Frontier.  His literary works have allowed him to influence thousands of people in the way that they think about the environment.
