Although company spokespersons claimed that nothing untoward appeared in documents that police looked at regarding what happened at the alumina plant in Hungary in 2010, the Prime Minister claimed it was human error that caused the ecological catastrophe.

There had been heavy rains that summer, which is thought to have possibly weakened the concrete walls of the dam that was holding back the alumina waste. A wall of this strength breaking, as it did in this situation, is unprecedented however, leading many to conclude that human error must have come into play.
