What was the OPEC started for?

    The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries was formed by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela at a conference in Baghdad on September 14, 1960.  Later, Qatar, Indonisia, Libya, United Arab Emirates, Algeria, and Nigeria joined the organization.  OPEC meets annually in Vienna to discuss production levels.
