    The last volcanic eruption on the east coast of the US occurred approximately 750 million years ago, along the site of what are now the Appalachian mountains. Mount Rogers, Virginia is a remnant of that volcanic zone, and volcanic rocks can be found there.

    As indicated in the cited ref in the other answer, there are volcanic rocks in various places on the east coast (Connecticut river valley, Newark area, among others) dating to about 200 million years ago. A long time ago, but way more recent than 750 million years.
