What was the largest wave ever recorded in the Atlantic ocean?

2004 Atlantic hurricane season’s Hurricane Ivan, struck U.S. shores September 15, with the tallest, most extreme waves ever measured: taller than 90 feet (27 meters), crest to trough and 600 feet (183 meters) long. While the tallest measured wave was 91 feet it’s likely that still larger waves (i.e., 130 feet) passed over, after scientists’ sensors shut down.
