March 2, 2009 was the largest U.S. protest against climate change yet.  Approximately 12,000 people went to Washington, D.C. to demand that the government reduce national greenhouse gas emissions.  2,500 were at the gates of Capitol Power Plant, a coal-burning plant that is owned by Congress and provides heat and cool water to the Capitol building and other buildings in the complex.
