What was the first source of oxygen on Earth?

    Plants — actually single celled organisms (aerobic photosythsizing eukaryotes – ancient and our oldest ancestor – all life comes from One) — began putting oxygen gas in the atmosphere. But oxygen has always been present in our world — remember it’s H2O and that o is 4 oxygen. It took until the first life forms popped up in the sea to get the stuff into the air in abundance. All the elements are here to stay — they were created in the same proportions and there is the same amount of any one in particular now as when the universe was created (or just shortly after the big bang)…
