The oldest known instrument might be a bone with holes in it found in Divje Babe, Slovenia. Approximately 43,000 to 82,000 years old, it is constructed out of a cave bear’s femur.

The flute found at Divje Babe

Another candidate for the oldest instrument is a 30,000 year-old flute made of vulture bone found in Hohle Fels, Germany.
